I think my son will get offered St.Marks as that and Cygnets were his two favourites. All the accommodation was nice tho, so he will be happy anyway. We went to have another look last Saturday and got to see to discuss his course a little and just get a feel for the place. My son wanted a bigger city ideally. But he was pleasantly surprised when we had a little wonder through the city. So I think he will be happy there. Our big shop starts next week! He's our youngest child, he has two older sisters, neither went to uni and they both left home a few years ago, so it's just been the three of us for a while. We know we are going to miss him so much, but we are excited and a little scared of the journey he has ahead.Hi
Hopefully you get an email soon and aren't waiting too much longer.
Lincoln was my sons first choice, and he was allocated St Marks, this was his number one choice.
We're only just over an hour away, and we loved the feel of the uni, I have always liked Lincoln anyway, so I feel like it's all slotted into place.
We are waiting for a move in date, I have been buying bits for him for a while, so I haven't much to get now, but will need some extras once there and can see sizes for storage etc.
He's my eldest, so it's a very exciting time, but there's definitely fear of the unknown!
31st isn't too much longer to wait then.My daughter is going to be staying in st marks too. My son wants to go next year as well, at this point we may as well move up there too!
From what i understand we will get to book slots after 31st August.
Definitely feel I’ve brought too much stuff, I think some will slow trickle back home when she realises she didn’t need it, for instance a glass teapot set she couldn’t resist in the charity shop
Definitely, all the accomodation was nice, and they'd be happy in any of them. I was hoping to get back and just have a general walk round, but we haven't had chance as yet, between our work and his.I think my son will get offered St.Marks as that and Cygnets were his two favourites. We had a look round Valentine and it was lovely. Bedrooms set away from the kitchen and lounge, which is what makes it ideal for yp's wanting a quiet bedroom or study room. My son also felt it was a bit far away too, a good 20 minute walk from most places. They said a lot of medical students choose it for the quiet space. But I think first years will still get together and socialise, it has a lovely enclosed outside space also. It was only the distance that put my son off. It's a space he's consider for other years. I'm sure your son will be fine, and there is nothing stopping him hanging out at other blocks anyway. My son is going into Valentine Court in the ‘quieter’ accommodation. We’re now worrying that we may have made the wrong choice and he wonders how quiet it’ll be and if he’ll miss out on some of the social activities? Not seen anyone else post about Valentine Court as yet!![]()
My daughter put in for the Lincoln courts aka the cheap seats, but they are closed for refurbishment so got a cheeky upgradeMy son is going into Valentine Court in the ‘quieter’ accommodation. My son found out today that he's been offered Cygnets Warf, he's delighted with that. I think this has actually made him look forward to going there now. And I finally feel like I can start getting things ready with his packing now too.Definitely, all the accomodation was nice, and they'd be happy in any of them. It will be quiet in your house, but you'll get used to it I'm sureYou can plan a few weekends to visit, not sure if you've been at Christmas, but its lovely.
He is my eldest so I still have my 12 year old to keep me busy.
