Ah Niamh looked at Brighton too - also Edinburgh, Manchester & Cambridge school of art. Falmouth was the best fit for her by far. She isn’t really a clubber/drinker but thought Falmouth seemed very cool. She’s hoping for small gatherings on the beach with friends. Sounds idyllic doesn’t it. We are looking at Packsaddle but I’ve seen you have to put 10 choices! Seems a lotHello Amanda
I’ll tell my Izzy to look out for Niamh - Izzy is also taking illustration. We live very far away from the uni too (285 miles). Izzy initially was set on Brighton but after visiting found it too busy. She absolutely fell in love with Falmouth and was lucky enough to receive an unconditional offer.
Fingers crossed for accommodation opening todaywe are hoping for Tuke house or Carrick view.

Hi Claire, we have already chatted on the facebook group previously. My daughter is also planning to go to Falmouth to study Illustration in September. Can I ask which accommodation your daughter is most interested in?Hello Anouschka
My daughter will be studying illustration at Falmouth this September. Accommodation opens April 5th. Izzy already has a good idea of which one she wants. However I understand it’s a random ballot process![]()
Hi Amanda, my daughter is also planning to study Illustration at Falmouth in September. We haven't visited the campuses yet but are hoping to do so next week. We are confused about which accommodation to go for, whether to be in Falmouth where the campus is or in Penryn and travel in. Thinking it would be cheaper being in Falmouth but then do you miss out on the social side of things?Hi, I’m Amanda & my daughter Niamh will be studying Illustration in September. She is the first of our children to go to uni & Falmouth is over 300 miles from where we live in the north west (so I’m a little nervous)! She is hoping to live at the Penryn campus although her classes will be in Falmouth. We all fell in love with the place when we visited last summer. Super excited for them all![]()
Hi! It’s a tough decision isn’t it! Both campuses are beautiful but in Falmouth the accommodation is on campus so near the bar/gym/groups/support etc. We thought this would be better for the first year away from home. There is a very regular bus running from the Penryn campus to the falmouth one (every 10 minutes) so it’s easy to get to & lots do that with no problems apparently. I think it depends on the young person tbh - Niamh might become isolated living off campus as she’s quiet & not the most confident. I think cost wise they are quite similar. You’ll enjoy having a look around. I wished I was going there myself!Hi Amanda, my daughter is also planning to study Illustration at Falmouth in September. Hi Alison, I'm Sarah btw and my daughter is Lottie. Thanks for the info, we'll have a look at the locations while we are down there and hopefully she will then have made up her mind! I am rather nervous about the 10 choices and really hope she gets with her top few choices. It's a long time to wait to find out!Hi! It’s a tough decision isn’t it! Her top 2 are Tuke & Carrick.Hi Claire, we have already chatted on the facebook group previously. My daughter is also planning to go to Falmouth to study Illustration in September. Can I ask which accommodation your daughter is most interested in?
Hi! That’s so reassuring to hear to hearHi I’m Mel. My daughter Indie is at Falmouth in her first year. She’s really happy there and has had a great first year. She’s at Glasney Village and studying Business and Digital Marketing at Penryn Campus.
Hi! Yes we were confused about this too. In the end we chose a couple that she would never accept such as a shared study room & a large studio flat. Hopefully they would never get their bottom choiceHi everyone, I'm Eve and my daughter Kinsey is going to be studying architecture in September. Has anybody completed the accommodation application yet? We're confused as it says put 10 preferences, but we can only see 8 locations xx
This is really helpful, thank you.Hi everyone- I am an art teacher and live in Falmouth- if you have any questions about the town - best doctors surgeries etc happy to answer them - also you can ask me about places to stay for when you come to visit![]()
Both of those are good halls -Thank you.
Her top 2 choices are Carrick & Tuke self catered - we haven’t received accommodation yet.
