First time uni mum

Absolutely delighted that my son got the grades he needed and will be on his way to Durham. First time uni mum so any hints and tips will be appreciated. He’s going to Collingwood College and will be studying Law.
 
Hi, my third child is heading off to University and like yours, got his first choice, Durham. He will be studying General Engineering and will be going to John Snow College.
Has your son got his college confirmed, room allocated and a drop off day/time?
We haven’t yet and compared to when my other two went we seemed to be got all the details a lot quicker.

My son was provisionally allocated Collingwood, but hasn't heard anything yet. He says some in his chat group have, but most were deferred from last year. There is only 1 in the chat so far who has heard and who is a current year student. So I'm guessing the forms are maybe coming out gradually. There is also the chance that they will be moved college - I have my fingers crossed it doesn't happen to my son as he is invested in Collingwood, as I'm sure your son is in John Snow.
 
When my son made Durham his first choice he got the emails about accommodation and had to do the preference order etc. he put John Snow first and it was confirmed. But only now (yesterday) has been asked about room preferences etc. so awaiting to hear, but also actual cost and when to drop off. It just seems still vague and last minute

My son hasn’t had drop off or room allocated yet. I think that’s a week or two away yet?
 
My daughter wants St.Cuthberts. She had an email on Friday to say due to technical hitch they are unable to confirm and will aim to have it sorted Monday.
 
Dd wanted the Bailey and fully catered…. She has been given Parson’s Field and self catered. Not a happy bunny this morning.

That's a shame. It's one of the risks choosing St Cuths because it does both catered and self-catered. At least she got the college she wanted - maybe she can hold onto that??
