Hey, so my daughter is in Packsaddle, block B floor 4. At the weekend I met some of her flat mates who all seemed really nice, just wondered if the parents are on here. Sophie, Ben, Stan, Logan, Mathilda (doing photography) not sure what the others are doing. But there was a Joshua on the floor above doing Games design too which was nice for Niamh as they had already chatted on discord. I think her not making friends is the thing I'm most worried about as she's really shy!

I have just been texting with my DD and she is struggling to meet anyone by the sounds of things. She was all excited the other day about the cocktail evening (tomorrow night) but now says she probably won't go as she has no-one to go with. And the flat mates are 'probably going with other people'. She is terribly shy and just won't invite herself along or just ask people to go with her. Is anyone else's YP going to this event and would feel like reaching out to Niamh?

Hi me again just noticed above she is in packsaddke. Is she doing games design ?
I have sent a message to Lauryn, but make no promises as she is shy and anxioud, plus we had a terrible start to freshers week with a trip to A&E antibiotics etc, (so I'm not overly keen on encouraging her to go out drinking, maybe they will have mock tails.....
) , but can ask her to just say Hi, she is in Glasney but has made a friend with someone in Packsaddle so she may be able to introduce them.Jacquikirby1

Sorry to hear this, hope ur daughter ok now. What black is she in in glasney? My son is in g2 and says his flat mates don't mingle and he does so bit of a letvdown for him so far x they will get there. Better thanks, and even managed a day trip shopping to Truro with a new friend yesterday.
Her flatmates dont mingle either but she managed to hit it off with several people on her course so I'm massively relieved, I thought the weekend illness drama and not being able to socialise straight away may of ruined things for her.
We had luckily stayed at a holiday park a few miles away so was here to take her to A&E, but we said goodbye yesterday and are leaving tonight, 7 hour drive to MidWales.

That's a relief how far is Truro? Did they get the bus ? Safe long journey home xxx

Hi Cat, realised I never replied to this! My daughter didn't go in the end, in fact I don't think she went to any events in Freshers, she is not into partying and is very shy. Hi Jacqui, yes Niamh is doing Games design. Has Lewis met her yet? I can't get much info out of Niamh
. She said one person came over to hang out in her room last week, but apart from that I am not sure if she is socialising at all. She has joined the Gaming soc though, so I'm hoping she will make some friends through that.Much better thanks.
She said she thinks she has met Niamh in 'The lounge' that first week. Don't know if Niamh will remember, she is quite tall, was probably all in black/goth style clothes. With a group including someone called Sophia. Lauryn sometimes goes by the name Jasper aswell so it gets confusing. She isn't great with info so that's all I can tell you.
I hope Niamh finds her tribe, I have asked Lauryn to say Hi if they bump into each other again.

Ah thanks. Niamh was formerly a Joshua, is very tall and slim and hides behind her long hair. Sounds like they might have some things in common. I think if they are going to find their tribe anywhere it will be at Falmouth! That's the hope anyway.Much better thanks.
