Greetham Street

Hi Tara, would your son recommend taking your own kettle and toaster to greetham. My son is going to be a flat of nine. Thanks

Hi Caroline,

I would suggest he speaks with his flat mates - my son was first to arrive and there was no kettle or toaster - he agreed that he would go and buy and then the rest of the flat would reimburse him.

hope that helps.
Tara

That’s great thanks. I am a bit worried as all the others have already moved in. He isn’t going till next Wednesday. His choice. He isn’t very good at socialising. No one using the unite app now as they are all there. Maybe I will take both, can always bring them home again.

thanks Caroline

Hi Caroline,

My son moved in on 12th but his course doe not start until 5th Oct! He is coming home for the weekend think too much partying with his flat mates.

which course is your son doing? Mine is doing Geography.

Tara

Yes course starts on the 5th. He is doing software engineering. He spends all his time at home. We’ve given him the drinking talk. It’s certainly going to be a big experience for him and us.

You'll be happy to have him home for a couple of days.

Caroline

My son is also at Greetham Street - studying Sport and Exercise Science. I will be pleased when the course starts on Monday but I don’t think he has a timetable yet!

My son only moved in on Wednesday, he is struggling a bit to integrate. He has 6 girls and 3 boys in the flat. He has made a small connection with one of the boys. I don’t think he has met any of the others. No timetable yet but has details of events for his induction. Surprisingly he has been to the pub for lunch on his own and done some shopping.

Oh Caroline I’m sorry to hear that. My son came home last weekend but to see his girlfriend more than missing us. Is he meeting people and going out?

Oh bless him. Would he like to meet my son on a one to one? Would that help him at all?
Thanks for the offer, he did spend a couple of hours with one of the boys in his flat on Thursday but he’s too anxious now to even contact him. hopefully with us going down this weekend and then induction activities next week he will start to get more confident.
