Wondering what might happen on Results Day? We've got some answers. With it being only 3 weeks away (!!), we’ve outlined a quick snapshot into some of the possibilities

Your young person meets the conditions for their first-choice university.
AMAZING! A huge congratulations. They’ll be going to their first-choice university. Check on UCAS Hub for more info, and the university should be in contact soon
Your young person meets the conditions for their insurance choice university.
GREAT! They are still heading to one of their chosen universities. Check on UCAS Hub for more info, and the university should send over more info soon
Your young person’s results are not what they expect, and they miss their first and insurance choice university.
Don’t. Panic. There are still LOTS of options. If they still want to go to university in September, Clearing is the best service for them. Clearing is when universities advertise their available courses which are not yet full. This gives them a chance to get onto a course.
Have they got a university and/or course in mind? If so, go directly to the university’s website and see how they can apply through Clearing.
If not, UCAS has a catalogue of university Clearing courses in one place. Remember to toggle on ‘Show Clearing courses’.
Other options outside of university might be a gap year, full-time/part-time employment, or an apprenticeship. There are plenty of pathways for them
Your young person decides they want to change university or course.
For whatever reason, your young person has decided they don’t want their first or insurance choice, and wants to change university and course entirely. That’s okay – this is still a valid option. Clearing is the best service for them and allows them to do just this. Have they got a university and/or course in mind? Again, go straight to the university’s website and see if their course is available. If not, UCAS has a catalogue of university Clearing courses in one place. Remember to toggle on ‘Show Clearing courses’.
Please remember: Your young person can only accept one offer on their UCAS Hub. They will need to be released from all other offers if they want to change. Contact the university directly for more info if this is the case.
No matter what happens on Results Day, universities have teams in place to support you and your young person with whatever decision they make. Things always have a way of sorting themselves out. Both you and your young person are ready for this
Here at ARU, we’re happy to talk about the Clearing process, how to apply, and talk you through available Clearing courses. Contact us today and get ahead:
